Do you know that weird no man’s land between Christmas and New Year’s Eve? We are exactly there. I never know what I should be doing. Should I be working? Should I rest? Should I do both?
It seems like a “nothing time” in which nobody really expects that much of you and nothing you do matters that much. I was reading about it: “It is a time against ambition and against striving. Whatever we hoped to finish is either finished or it’s not going to happen this week, and all our successes and failures from the previous year are already tallied up. It’s too late for everything; Dead Week is the luxurious relief of giving up.”
Let’s say that Dead Week for me this year is one of pausing (even though I’m still thinking about the goals of the next year and the projects I have in motion), looking back, and relaxing.
I’ll share with you my active projects (I don’t want to call them “good intentions” or “end of year resolution”):
social posting about the Sky Arts documentary “The Blending of Senses”. The dates of airing are: Jan 3 at 7:45pm - Jan 7 at 10am and Jan 9 at 10:30am. Exciting!
recover from my bronchitis (yes, at this point it’s a project considering how many times in the month I had it - and all things related to it) before rehearsing the new performance: 11 to 13 of January are very important days as the sound designer we are working with is coming from Valencia on purpose and Max is already on it (did you see when I was there?)
make a good workshop (a few spots left!) for people to appreciate and make it more sophisticated in order to do it once every two month, meeting new people and sharing good vibes
working out and come back to the shape I like because I want to take care of myself better (hot yoga, swimming, hiking)
curate my website more
gratitude exercises, to do everyday
theatre show - I need to finish the song I wrote for it (which is for the main act) and to work on new music with the producer and Max in Amsterdam (here’s the post about it, to make you better understand what I’m talking about)
change the wardrobe completely and have only a few things that I love and I always want to wear (I started already but I can do better)
I’m also selling a lot of my pieces at very low prices in London and with monthly subscriptions on my website. Remember your subscriber benefits ☝️As one of my newsletter aficionado you will be offered a discounted rate on sales directly from the studio. I'm now taking bookings for newly commissioned paintings, I'll look forward to hearing from you! Let me know you're on my mailing list when you contact me about sales and commissions. I’ll see you very soon in London or in Europe as tour dates are coming back…
